Growing up on a farm in rural eastern NC, my whole world was the farm. We never went anywhere. Other than a day trip to the beach or mountains, my view of the world in which we lived was very small.
It is such a God breathed reality that he has allowed me to serve Jesus and to go to the areas proclaiming the Good News in areas like Mississippi, Louisiana, Appalachian Outreach, and local missions such as Kennedy Center, RCS, and through sports camps and leagues.
When God opened up the opportunity for my daughter and I to go for the very first time in 2015 and serve as missionaries, I felt more alive than ever before. Meeting, greeting, and making friends and missionaries who proclaim Christ has been a huge blessing and has allowed me to flourish personally by teaching, preaching, and sharing the Good news in a region that is 98% dominated by muslims who are hungry for hope. Hope through Christ is the substance of what we preach through the gospel in that God loves them! The Kingdom of heaven can be experienced now! Earth is not my home and until the Lord calls me home, I pray for this mission and the next generation of missionaries to be faithful. For our church to be faithful, and for us to be the exact ambassador for Christ whether it is serving in our home, our neighborhood, our region, our state, our nation, and throughout the world, may God find us doing the work that he has called us to do! May he receive the glory! Amen and Amen!
