Lost Pocket 114 marks a 5 mile radius around Temple Church where 73% of people are not engaged in a religious congregation or community. This is greater than the average of 64.6% for cities in the United States. These are our friends, neighbors, coworkers, and the people we see everyday in New Bern. This can also be a great first experience to get your feet wet in missions and evangelism.Be equipped and sent.
With no travel expenses or lodging, the only cost is your time, energy, and commitment to participating in the dates listed below…July 9th (Wednesday): Prayer Walking with Training at Temple
July 16th (Wednesday): Prayer Walking
July 27th (Sunday): Evangelism Training at Temple
August 2nd (Saturday): School Supply Drive at Fort Totten Park
August 9th (Saturday): BBQ and Games at Fort Totten Park
August 23rd (Saturday): Door-to-Door Evangelism
August 24th (Sunday): Team Debrief at Temple
We recognize that committing 7 days of the summer can be a challenge. If you have to miss any of these days, please attend at least 1 Prayer Walking Event, 1 social event at Fort Totten Park, and the Evangelism Training and Door-To-Door Event, though we hope you’ll be there all the days.
Help develop a strategy to reach the lost.
This is a God-sized task for a specific team of 30-40 this summer. Those who participate will be trained and sent to put what they learn into practice. We want to hear each team member's feedback throughout the whole experience so that we can adjust things to better reach Lost Pocket 114. We hope that by the end of this mission trip the Gospel will be shared, and that you will grow in personal evangelism.

Release and Medical Waiver for Participating Minors
All participants under the age of 18 must complete and submit a waiver.
Requirements
Prerequisites
- Application
- Background check (for participants 18 years or older)
Responsibilities
- Door-to-door evangelism
- Prayer Walking
- Host and facilitate a school supply drive at a local park for the community
- Host and facilitate a BBQ social gathering at a local park for the community
- Following-up with households who have responded to our outreach efforts
Restrictions
- Member of Temple Church or a like-minded church
- 14 years or older (must have a parent going on the trip for participants under 18 years old)
Preparation
- Attend Interest Meeting on June 22nd at Temple Church
- Attend one or both Prayer Walking Training on July 9th/16th at Temple Church
- Attend Evangelism Training on July 27th at Temple Church
- Collect supplies for School Supply Drive and turn them into Darryl Vang by August 2nd
